# Transport, tissue and materials

> Peptide Research Inc reading list — The Peptide Research Inc reading list: PepT1 transport, KPV in mouse colon models, hydrogels and cultured human epithelial cells.

**The reading list**

I’d begin at PepT1’s awkward double role, then return to the earlier uptake experiment. The materials studies become much more interesting in that order.

## Colon experiments involving PepT1

The [mouse colitis-associated cancer paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27458604/) puts PepT1’s double role in view. The earlier [uptake study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18061177/) connects transport with inflammatory responses in cultured cells and colitis in mice. The separate [mouse-colitis study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18092346/) adds recovery, tissue inflammation and the MC1R-deficient animals.

For the family connection, the [alpha-MSH and related-tripeptide review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18612139/) is a useful companion. It is a review of experimental literature.

## Materials and epithelial cells

The materials sequence runs from [KPV stabilization in a hydrogel](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34547895/) to [a double-network gel in mouse colitis](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35245681/), with [targeted oral nanoparticles](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28143741/) and [the KPV/FK506 preparation](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39211778/) supplying different constructions and comparisons.

The [fine-dust keratinocyte study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40073467/) and [bronchial epithelial-cell paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22837805/) move the investigation beyond intestinal tissue. Both concern experimental human-derived cell systems.
